Children’s Ministry

At St. John’s United Church, we believe that children are an essential and important part of the church. As Jesus says in Matthew: “Let the children come to me … for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” We believe that you are never too young to begin your journey following Christ.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Following its tradition of having a vibrant child population, St. John’s Sunday School continues to be active on Sunday mornings. Currently, the Minister leads a children’s story time during the service, and four pairs of Sunday school teachers take turns providing appropriate programming. They plan weekly lessons, Christmas performances, and participation in events and take the young people on outings throughout the community, such as to the Elmvale Food Bank and Springwater Township Firehall. Nursery care is available for the very young. The year-end Sunday School picnic celebration involves the church family and takes place at Heritage Park in the greater Elmvale community.
