Congregational Meeting April 11, 2010
Future Ministerial Needs for St. John's

Upon completion of a three year Interim process St. John’s hopes to welcome a permanent minister July 1, 2011. In order for that to happen we need to ask Northern Waters Presbytery to form a Joint Needs Assessment Committee. The JNAC will be made up of congregational members and two representatives from Presbytery. They will be responsible for compiling a report that includes:

  • Church / Community / area information
  • Congregational priorities / skills profile
  • Job description / financial compensation
  • Resources / budget information

Members of the JNAC may be either members or adherents of St. John's United Church. Being on this committee will require a significant time commitment. When the report is completed, accepted by the congregation and approved by Presbytery, then we can ask Presbytery to declare a vacancy for July 1, 2011.

A Joint Search Committee will then be set up to handle advertising the position, receiving applications, interviewing candidates and recommending a candidate to the congregation. JSC members should be full members of the church.

Once the congregation has decided on a candidate, a call can be issued.

There will be a congregational meeting on Sunday, April 11, 2010, following the worship service to initiate the JNAC/JSC process.
