Welcome to the St. John’s United Church Website! We hope that you will discover the inclusiveness, warmth and welcoming that is offered to everyone. We offer inspirational worship services with a blend of traditional and contemporary music and hope that you will join us. We are also a congregation who continues to grow in our awareness of what it means to be a part of the Body of Christ and who continues to look for ways of reaching out to our community and to God’s world. As you will notice as you browse our different links, we are home to a number of Community Groups as well as a supporter to a number of Community Outreach Groups.

You will also discover that we offer a vibrant and exciting Sunday School experience for a broad range of ages that help children discover the wonders of the Bible and how to apply its teachings in everyday life through art, drama, storytelling, movies, crafts, puppetry, dance and music. We are very excited about our youth program and the opportunities it offers for young people to connect with one another and with God. If you are looking for volunteer opportunities, there are lots here for you. We continue to explore adult faith growth opportunities and welcome your suggestions.

Thank you for exploring our church family and please be assured whether you are looking for a new beginning, for answers or a place to call home, I can promise that St. John’s United Church is a place where you will be welcomed and feel blessed.

Until we meet,

Blessings,
Rev Steve Atkinson

Thought For The Week   Weekly Reflection
There are no new sins; the old ones just get more publicity.   We invite you to take a few minutes each week to slow down and open yourself to God's presence using these reflections from the United Church of Canada's web site. Please click here.
 Holy Humour

Wonder Cafe
One Sunday a minister told the congregation that the church needed some extra money and asked the people to prayerfully consider giving a little extra in the offering plate. He said that whoever gave the most would be able to pick out three hymns. After the offering plates were passed, the minister glanced down and noticed that someone had place a $1000 bill in the offering. He was so excited that he immediately shared his joy with the congregation and said that he’d like to personally thank the person who placed the money in the plate. A very quiet, elderly and saintly lady all the way in the back shyly raised her hand. The minister asked her to come to the front, told her how wonderful it was that she gave so much and in thanksgiving asked her to pick out three hymns: Her eyes brightened as she looked over the congregation, pointed to the three handsomest men in the building and said, “I’ll take him and him and him.”   We invite you to engage in conversations that are important to us at wondercafe.ca
